We designed this logo for Ann McCrady, a speaker, writer, poet, communicator, in Henderson, Tx. She does it all.
Her business is called InSpiritry and she basically inspires people via seminars, writing, podcasts, poetry, conferences, etc. She brings people together to become better then they thought possible. Ann has been one of the best clients to work for, she trusted our opinions, communicated exactly what she needed and everything went perfectly. Some of the points, from our initial meeting, that Ann wanted realized in the logo were: go out into the world, widen your perception, open up – do more, see more, learn more, come together, grow, etc. These are very abstract ideas, but we think each of them comes together in her new logo.

SoulSun Longboards
We had an awesome opportunity to work on a logo for a custom longboard company called SoulSun Longboards. Dustin Bryson is the owner and we were stoked to get a chance to work on this with him. His online shop just went live so definitely check it out when you can. One of the really cool things about this shop are the hand painted boards. Dustin is getting local (Panama City, FL) artists to hand paint some of the boards. There is one very rad painted board online now and I’m sure there will be more to come.

Here were a few of the initial ideas that we were also quite happy with.

WE – 75 year logo.
The good folks over at Weatherby Eisenrich asked us to help them develop a logo for their 75th year in business. We developed a good bit of collateral for them including new business cards, letterhead, and envelopes.

Chupacabras
So our buddies over at OFB passed on another pretty dope project. This one is for a father/son outing group that called themselves the Chupacabras. We were asked to develop a logo that would be fun for kids and could be used on all of their collateral material: water bottles, t-shirts, etc. They wanted a logo that had a pro sports team feel but was friendly. Considering no one has any idea what a real Chupacabra looks like, we’d like to think our little guys are a great kid friendly interpretation.

Solidus Bank
Our good buddies over at OFB passed along this little gem to us. Solidus is a small bank in Dallas TX. The word solidus comes from a coin that was originally used in ancient Greece. The bank owners wanted the logo to reflect the original coin while appearing modern. We’re really happy with the way this all turned out and stoked to continue working with OFB.

Kansas City Ice House
While in Kansas City we did some work for the KC Ice House. The ice house is a large old ice factory that has been refurbished into office spaces and a music venue. While the companies within the building had their own logo there was no logo for the building, and no signage. We developed a classy vintage logo while still appealing to the younger professionals that occupy the space.

Kansas City Children’s Museum
While in Kansas City, we were lucky enough to work at Reactor Studios for a few days. One of the projects we got to work on was a promotional poster for the Kansas City Children’s Museum. They are about to start a large fund raising process and wanted an “artistic” poster that people would want to display. Reminding them about the fund raising event.

Global Justice
A local awareness group Global Justice needed a new logo for the Bryan/College Station chapter. We wanted something that would grab students attention and get them involved or at least curious about the group. The logo needed to be versatile as it would be used for all sorts of promotional materials including posters and shirts. We’re pretty happy with what resulted.

Dan’s Tattoo Shop
Martin landed some sweet trade work for Dan’s Tattoo Shop. Dan wanted a simple page that linked directly to his mypsace. Nothing more nothing less. We built this page for him and Martin got some free tattoo’s. You can check out the blog post on it here.

So Fresh
We got to design the T-Shirts for the Social Fresh media conference. We’re pretty stoked on how the design came out. There is even a “#sofresh” hidden in the center of the orange.

Insurance Ads
We were contacted with this project for the Andrews football program. The client had contracted the design out to another company but were not happy with the design, asking us to redesign it last minute. They gave us the old design and asked us to include the same elements but improve upon it.
We’re very happy with the results.
Here is the original ad we were given.

After the success of the football ad we were contacted by WE again to produce an ad for another publication. Here is the second round of work.

Mind Body Spirit
The client wanted a simple work mark that had a subtle reference to Christianity. The logo was for a fitness center where activities like spin class would be instructed with Christian music and prayers.

Headphones 4 Hope
Chris and Matt are starting a charity called Headphones 4 Hope. Basically, they want to help other charities with their fund raising. They are the charity for charities. These guys have a lot of connections with music/art/etc and know how to put on great events. They are just doing their part to help people out and we think it is super awesome.
They came to us with the name (Headphones 4 Hope) and a general idea of the style. They needed a logo and a t-shirt design. We knocked it out and they really liked it. Woo! Check it out.
What are you guys doing?
We began this journey by designing our way across the country. Connecting & learning from creatives around the US and sharing what we learned with students. We lived and designed from the road for five months. This blog is our story. We're now Drifting Creatives, a small web, print and identity design firm, usually located Texas. Keep an eye on us, our next drift will be just as epic.
